IRENET is committed to promoting gender equality, equal opportunities, dignity, inclusion and non-discrimination across its governance, research, innovation, education, communication and project activities.
The IRENET Gender Equality Plan (GEP) 2026–2029 is a formal strategic and operational document that establishes the principles, responsibilities, measures, resources and monitoring arrangements through which gender equality is integrated into the organisation’s activities. The Plan applies to IRENET’s governing bodies, employees, members performing organisational roles, volunteers, contracted experts, project teams and, where relevant, external collaborators acting on behalf of IRENET.
The Plan was formally adopted on 14 July 2026 and is valid until 31 December 2029. Responsibility for its implementation rests with the President of IRENET, supported by the GEP Coordinator and, where appropriate, a Gender Equality Working Group.
